How do you define a sapphire padparadscha?

I'm looking to buy a padparadscha sapphire engagement ring, but people seem to be how the excessive use of the term. What is the difference between one and the sapphire padparadscha orange? And if it is 'hot' remains a genuine padparadscha, or am I better just buy a pink or orange? How do I avoid getting ripped off when going to buy one?
