For any future athlete that intends to start a new activity, to learn a little history of the sport is always a good idea.
Ball games can be traced back hundreds and thousands of years. Usually played for entertainment or for religious ceremonies, ball games became very popular around the world in countless civilizations. European monks probably created the game of tennis. The players soon discovered that instead of hitting the ball as well as the walls that had a better command to use the hand.
